Social reality that we face are often not in accordance with the expectations of most people.

In this era of openness now everyone is free to express criticism and aspirations to the government. If literature is used as a medium to express criticism of social reality which does not favor the interests of society, then the real work of literature has a social function. Social functions of literature is expected to give awareness to people to perform acts that benefit the public good.

Literature is art and art is beautiful. Thus literature is always connecting it with the creativity associated with beauty. Although synonymous with the beauty of literature, world literature does not just talk about the beauty, the meaning of life, love, and compassion. This means that in the beauty of literature there are forces that can be used to convey rejection, criticism and rebellion.
